Only three miles from Fort
William's town centre Moorfield House offers you everything
you'll need for a comfortable stay. You'll get a warm Highland
welcome from your host Mary, en-suite shower facilities,
satellite TV in your bedroom, tea and coffee making facilities
and a full choice traditional Scottish breakfast. There
is also a good choice of local hotels and bars within easy
walking distance of Moorfield serving excellent meals and
drinks for the evenings.
Moorfield House is a spacious,
six-bedroom, family home, with two letting bedrooms that
was built in September 1999. The outlook from Moorfield
is one that is quiet unique in the area as it offers one
of the finest view points of Ben Nevis, Britain's highest
mountain, Nevis Range and Loch Linnhe. Moorfield is also
only a 5 minute walk from the Caledonian Canal and the famous
Neptune Staircase, an engineering masterpiece build by Thomas
Telford in 1822.
As well as the natural environment
that surrounds Moorfield many of Fort William's main visitor
attractions are within easy walking distance or a short
drive away. Treasures of the Earth Crystal and Gemstone
Exhibition and the Nevis Range Cable Car are a 10 minute
drive away while the Dew of Ben Nevis Whisky Distillery
is a 10 minute walk from the house.
Moorfield is also ideally
located for getting out and touring round the Highlands.
Sitting half a mile off the main A82 route you can travel
north to Loch Ness and Inverness or south to Glencoe, Tyndrum
and Oban. Or you can take the A830 route along the Road
to the Isles for Mallaig, Knoydart and the Isle of Skye.
